4,700 customers in 2024: the number of connections to DTEK Dnipro Grids is catching up with the pre-war level

Over the past year, DTEK Dnipro Grids connected 4,696 facilities in the Dnipropetrovsk region to its grids. For the residents to be able to draw up the required documents in a fast and convenient manner, there is a “Simple Connections” service available on the energy company’s website. This is a personal user account, integrated with the state service Diia. It helped our customers submit 51% of connection requests in 2024 online.

The following actions are available in the user account:

  • remote drawing up of the connection request and receiving the bill for services;
  • sharing of copies of digital documents by scanning the QR code via the mobile app Diia (passport data and identification code using the mobile phone);
  • signing the required documents with Diia.Pidpys;
  • getting detailed information online about the status of the connection request;
  • using a special calculator to estimate the capacity to be ordered for uninterrupted and safe work.

From March 26, 2022 to December 31, 2023, DSO could only carry out temporary connections, which must be transferred into the constant ones after the end of martial law*. Since January 1, 2024, state regulator NEURC resumed provision of services by the Distribution System Operators related to standard and non-standard connection to the grids**.

DTEK Dnipro Grids ensures transparent procedure of submitting and signing documents for connection to the grids.

* NEURC decree No. 352 dated March 26, 2022 approved the Procedure for the temporary connection of electrical installations to the electricity distribution system during the period of martial law in Ukraine. According to it, all temporarily connected electrical installations are to be connected to the distribution system within six months after the end of the martial law in compliance with requirements of the Distribution Systems Code.

 ** According to the Rules of connection of electrical installations to the grids, the DSO carries out a standard connection if the straight line distance from the existing grids to the site of electrical installation connection (house/facility) does not exceed 300 m and the connection capacity does not exceed 50 kW. If these parameters are exceeded a non-standard connection is carried out, requiring changes to the existing grid layout.
