DTEK Dnipro Grids Restored Power Supply to 30 Settlements Overnight
DTEK Dnipro Grids emergency crews worked all night to restore power to the storm-affected regions. As of the morning of June 18, our energy workers resumed operation of 15 power lines and more than 300 transformer substations. About 20,000 residents of the region have their power back.
At night, severe weather brought outages to more than 70 settlements. Currently, 43 settlements are still completely without electricity and 29 partially, which count about 15,000 customers. Because of thunderstorms and gusts of wind, 32 power transmission lines of 6-10 kV, and 428 transformer substations were de-energized.
DTEK Dnipro Grids emergency crews have been put on high alert. They are working 24/7 to provide customers with reliable electricity supply in the shortest possible time. About 200 energy workers of the company are eliminating the consequences of the weather. The company doubled the number of emergency crews in the most affected areas - Novomoskovsk and Pavlograd.
"DTEK cares about its customers and does everything to ensure that their homes always have lights on and comfort. More than 60 repair crews and 66 units of equipment are currently involved in the emergency recovery work. Our energy workers are making every effort to restore energy supply to the affected areas as soon as possible. We plan to compete the recovery of the overhead lines and transformer substations operation today by the end of the day,” says Andrii Tereshchuk, CEO at DTEK Dnipro Grids.
According to weather forecasters, rainfalls, and thunderstorms with wind gusts of 7-12 m/s are expected across Dnipropetrovsk Region in the coming days.
DTEK Dnipro Grids asks residents of the region to stay at home and be careful not to approach bare wires, broken lines, open doors, and hatches of electrical installations, as well as damaged poles.
