DTEK restored electricity to 40,000 homes in the Dnipropetrovsk region, de-energized due to the hurricane
Strong gusts of wind (up to 15-20 m/s) and falling of tree branches on the wires in the region caused numerous damages to the power lines. Restoration activities commenced last night.
Energy workers have already restored operation of 46 lines and 850 transformer substations. Electricity has been restored to homes of 40,000 families in 114 settlements of the region that were completely or partially de-energized.
Bad weather in the Dnipropetrovsk region continues, causing new emergencies. As of 17:00, almost 800 transformer substations and 67 power lines have been de-energized. Over 26,000 homes remain without electricity in 177 settlements of Dnipro, Synelnykove, Novomoskovsk and other districts of the region.
DTEK Dnipro Grids specialists are working in the high alert mode to eliminate damage as soon as possible. 74 emergency crews – 218 employees and almost 100 items of machinery are engaged. Despite difficult weather conditions, energy workers will work 24/7 until they restore electricity to every home.
Let us remind that strong gusts of wind may cause falling of trees and broken wires. During bad weather, please be careful, follow safety rules and do not approach the power lines.
