DTEK brings back light: energy workers restored power to almost a million homes in November

In November, the enemy intensified its attacks on the energy infrastructure of the country. Nevertheless, specialists of the DTEK Grids Distribution System Operators managed to restore electricity to almost a million Ukrainian families*, whose homes were de-energized due to the strikes in Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk and Kyiv regions. After each air attack or artillery shelling, energy workers promptly repair the grids once they obtain permission from the AFU and SES.

The enemy intensified its attacks on the energy infrastructure of the country in November. Lines and equipment suffered destruction due to missile or drone strikes. The majority in the Odesa region, which suffered devastating attacks. Last month, energy workers managed to restore electricity to homes of 701,700 families of residents of the Odesa region. 

During the same period of time, energy workers of the DTEK Grids Distribution System Operators restored electricity to homes of 4,800 families of residents of the Kyiv region, whose homes were de-energized due to yet another enemy attacks. Grids and equipment of the capital also suffered from enemy attacks in November. Energy workers promptly restored electricity to homes of 1,100 de-energized families. 

In the regions close to hostilities, the energy system also suffered from enemy artillery shelling and air strikes. During the last month of autumn, the enemy continued to attack the Dnipropetrovsk region, especially the south of the region. Over the past month, energy workers were able to restore power to 192,100 families here. 

In November, energy workers managed to restore electricity to homes of 75,500 families in the Donetsk region, which remains an arena of the hardest hostilities. Specialists of the energy company continue restoring grids in the frontline region on a daily basis – once the security situation and the military permit. 

“In November, the enemy continued its attacks on the energy infrastructure of the country. Nevertheless, energy workers of Ukraine joined efforts to keep providing residents with electricity. Our task is to provide residents and critical infrastructure with electricity as much as it is possible in the conditions of regular shelling. Since the beginning of the full-scale war, we have already restored electricity to 16.1 million families in Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa and Donetsk regions, and in the capital,”noted Alina Bondarenko, CEO at DTEK Grids 

Company’s specialists continue to work together with AFU and SES in the regions of fiercest hostilities and restore operation of the grids immediately after obtaining permission from them.
