Over the first week of 2023 (January 2 through 8), DTEK energy workers have restored electricity to almost 90,000 families, left without power due to shelling in the city of Kyiv and in Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions. Despite regular shelling, specialists of the DTEK Grids Distribution System Operators make every effort to promptly repair everything that was destroyed by the enemy.

From January 2 to 8, specialists of the DTEK Grids Distribution System Operators have restored operation of grids, damaged due to enemy shelling, for 90,000 families in 101 settlements of Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions, as well as in the city of Kyiv.

For 10 months, energy workers have been working in high risk conditions in order to restore power supply after shelling. Since the beginning of a full-scale invasion they have already restored power to 6.6 mln customers. Some of these customers had power restored to them on dozens occasions due to regular enemy attacks. Energy workers make every effort to promptly restore electricity to all those affected once they obtain a permit for work performance from SES and AFU.

As of January 8, shutdowns in Kyiv, Odesa and Dnipropetrovsk regions, as well as in the city of Kyiv are conducted in compliance with stabilization schedules despite difficult situation in the energy system. However, due to enterprises returning to work after New Year holidays the load on the grids is currently increasing. Energy workers ask to consume electricity moderately: use energy-consuming household appliances one by one, switch off light and appliances that are not being used.
