DTEK energy workers are preparing the grids in Kamianske for the heating season
DTEK Group is a responsible business, partner of society and state. As part of preparation of Kamianske for the autumn-winter season, DTEK Dnipro Grids specialists have conducted maintenance of 27 transformer substations that power critical facilities and residential areas. They also cleared 5 km of overhead power lines from green spaces in order to reduce the risk of power outages during bad weather. These measures will ensure reliable operation of the company’s grids in the city during the cold period.
“According to experts, this heating season will be one of the toughest in the past 30 years. That is why we put maximum effort to prepare the grids and ensure stable power supply to the residents. We direct all financial and technical resources that the company owes to the stimulating RAB regulation to that. We use thermal imagers to inspect equipment at the transformer substations that power large residential areas in Kamianske. They make it possible to detect overheating, identify potential emergency areas in order to eliminate damages and avoid problems with power supply. Our specialists have already discovered about 10 various nonconformities. All of them have been promptly eliminated,” – informs the company.
A special attention is being paid to the residential neighborhoods of Cheremushky, Livyi bereh and Center, where increased demand for electricity is expected due to the residents’ mass use of electrical appliance for additional heating of their homes. Technical inspections of equipment are being actively conducted in districts that underwent centralized transition to the electrical heating as well, – “BAM” and “Sotsmisto”.
“Over the past two years, we have completely rejected heat supply of “BAM” and “Sotsmisto” from the DniproAzot Combined Heat and Power Station. 200 multi-storied buildings were switched to the electrical heating. Together with DTEK Dnipro Grids we have upgraded the grids and did everything to ensure proper power supply during the heating season,” – said mayor of Kamianske Andrii Bilousov.
A specially trained DTEK Dnipro Grids crew that applies modern operation technique – live line work is engaged in repairs in Kamianske. Such approach will ensure uninterrupted power supply of residents during work performance.
As informed earlier, DTEK specialists will upgrade equipment at 160 power facilities in the Dnipropetrovsk region and 200 km of power lines by the time it gets cold, thus making it possible to improve reliability of power supply for residents, institutions and enterprises during the period of increased demand for electricity.
The company cares about its customers, so it gave residents 7 simple advises that will make it possible to safely use electrical appliances in winter and maintain comfortable temperature in their homes without any risk of power outages.
