DTEK energy workers restored electricity to 36,000 families after bad weather in the Dnipropetrovsk region

DTEK Dnipro Grids energy workers are eliminating consequences of bad weather in the region that happened in the evening of April 15. Thunderstorm and squally wind caused damage to lines and electrical equipment. Emergency crews have been working all night long to eliminate emergencies. By morning, they managed to energize most of the customers – electricity has been restored to almost 36,000 families. Energy workers make every effort to restore electricity to every home as soon as possible.

Bad weather and gusty wind of 27-30 m/s caused emergencies in the grids in the region, leaving nearly 48,000 customers without electricity.  

By 10:30 a.m., energy workers restored operation of most of the lines and transformer substations, thus restoring electricity to almost 36,000 customers. 

12,000 homes in 100 settlements of Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih and other districts of the Dnipropetrovsk region currently remain without electricity. DTEK Dnipro Grids emergency crews are working to repair damaged sections of lines and restore electricity to people’s homes as soon as possible. 

41 crews (108 employees and 43 items of machinery) are engaged in elimination of consequences of bad weather. Emergency and restoration activities in the region are to be completed by the end of the day. 

Be careful, follow safety rules and do not approach broken power lines closer than 8 meters.
