Preparation for winter: DTEK upgrades a cable line to ensure more reliable power supply to 13,000 families in the Obolon capital district
DTEK Kyiv Grids energy workers are reconstructing the cable line that goes from the high-voltage substation to the distribution point. From there, electricity is provided to 62 high-rise residential buildings, 3 schools, 8 kindergartens, medical and educational institutions, located at 5 streets of the capital.
“DTEK Grids Distribution System Operators are creating an infrastructure for rebuilding of Ukraine and recovery of economy. DTEK Kyiv Grids took care to ensure that by the end of the year residents of Obolon will have a cable laid in 1975 replaced with an absolutely new more powerful line with a total length of more than 1.5 kilometers. Thanks to this upgrade, more than 13,000 families of our customers in the Obolon capital district will get a more reliable power source during the difficult winter period,” – noted Denys Bondar, CEO at DTEK Kyiv Grids.
The works are carried out with the funds of the company’s Investment program. Overall cost of the cable line reconstruction is over 10 million hryvnas.
As stated earlier, DTEK Kyiv Grids has completed modernization of three high-voltage substations in the capital. They power parts of Pechersk, Solomianskyi, Holosiivskyi, Shevchenkivskyi districts and part of the Left bank. Equipment upgrade helped energy workers improve reliability of power supply to 247 high-rise buildings and a number of socially important facilities in these districts.
