Electricity restored to more than 2 million families: a new DTEK Grids DSO anti-record for restorations after enemy attacks
The lion’s share was in the Dnipropetrovsk region, where the enemy attacked the energy sector multiple times over the course of the week, damaging a number of power facilities that transport electricity to the residents of Dnipro and Dnipropetrovsk region, and, thus, causing large-scale power outages throughout the region. Energy workers are working 24/7 to restore electricity as soon as possible. Over the course of the week, specialists here manage to restore power to 1.1 mln families.
Thanks to the efforts of energy workers, electricity has been restored to 648,000 homes in the capital that were de-energized due to enemy attacks.
At the same time, despite an extremely difficult situation in the Donetsk region caused by continuous fighting, region’s specialists managed to carry out a number of repairs and restore electricity to 115,700 homes. And though restoring power supply in the region becomes harder and harder, energy workers continue to restore power supply once it becomes possible.
From January 5 to 11, energy workers also managed to restore electricity to homes of 106,700 local residents in the Odesa region, energy system of which continues to suffer from constant strikes.
Last week, energy workers in the Kyiv region restored power to almost 92,000 homes that were also de-energized after enemy strikes.
It should be noted that restorations were also significantly complicated by bad weather that raged throughout Ukraine last week.
“The enemy continues to launch large-scale attacks on our country’s energy system. This week marked a new anti-record for restorations: colleagues restored electricity to 2.1 mln homes in the regions of our companies’ presence. Despite everything – large-scale destruction of the energy system, security challenges and fatigue - we continue to work and restore electricity for as long as 1,419 days now. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, we have already restored electricity to a total of over 35.5 mln* families in Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa and Donetsk regions, and in the city of Kyiv. We have restored electricity to some settlements close to the area of hostilities on dozens of occasions,” – noted Alina Bondarenko, CEO at DTEK Grids.
DTEK Grids DSO energy workers are doing everything possible to eliminate damage as soon as possible. They commence work immediately after obtaining permission and access to the site of damage from the AFU and SES.
