Over 60 crews of DTEK Donetsk Grids repair the grids, damaged by bad weather and hostilities

Bad weather rages in the Donetsk region. Furious wind knocks down trees, damages grids and significantly complicates performance of restoration activities at height. By morning, the storm left 61,000 families in 47 settlements without electricity. Energy workers make every effort to restore power supply in the region. However, the situation is complicated by shelling of the Donetsk region that also left a large share of residents of the region without electricity.

Bad weather reached Donetsk region. Storm wind knocks down trees, brakes branches and causes damage to the grids. DTEK Donetsk Grids emergency and repair crews are working to restore electricity to 61,000 residents in 47 settlements, affected by bad weather.

More than 60 crews of energy workers are engaged in these activities. They work on restoration of electricity both for residents of the region, affected by bad weather, and for those de-energized due to shelling.

However, bad weather continues, significantly complicating the works: due to the storm wind it is very hard to perform work on the aerial platforms. Constant shelling of the Donetsk region adds complications as well. Therefore, we ask residents to show understanding: energy workers will continue to work in the high alert mode until the electricity is restored wherever possible.

Additionally, please be reminded of the need to follow electrical safety rules:

  • do not stay near power lines during strong wind;
  • do not approach broken wire closer than 8-12 meters and never touch it;
  • If you see wires that fell to the ground, ruptured or sagging wires, open doors and hatches of electrical installations, as well as damaged poles, please, inform us via the energy company’s call center or via private messages on our Facebook page;

If you have a power outage, please inform us about it in a convenient way: via remote service channels: DTEK Donetsk Grids website, company’s Facebook page. You can also contact the call center: +38 (093/096/099) 450 0 473, though it may take more time due to a large number of calls.

Energy workers are working 24/7 and doing everything possible to provide electricity to every home. Only together and with joint efforts will we be able to endure and overcome these dark times!
