Over the course of the day, DTEK Donetsk Grids restored electricity to more than 21,000 families, de-energized due to shelling and bad weather

Over the course of the day, despite constant shelling of the region, DTEK Donetsk Grids specialists managed to restore electricity to almost 7,000 homes, de-energized due to hostilities. Besides, energy workers restored power to 14,800 homes, affected by bad weather. Energy workers commence repairs immediately once the shelling subsides and the military provide permission for work performance.

Yesterday, bad weather added some work for the energy workers: stormy wind was breaking branches and knocking down trees. Emergency and repair crews restored power to residents of 57 settlements over the course of the day, thus restoring electricity to homes of 14,811 families, de-energized due to bad weather. 

Meanwhile, active hostilities are underway in the Donetsk region. Shelling, missile and air strikes continue. According to Vadym Filashkin, the head of the region, settlements of the region were shelled 9 times yesterday. 

On April 16, energy workers managed to completely or partially restore electricity to 25 settlements of the region, thus restoring power to homes of 6,908 families. 

DTEK Donetsk Grids specialists are working non-stop for 784 days in a row and repair equipment and lines once it becomes possible. Nearly 70 crews of the energy company are working daily on restorations in the region.
