DTEK Odesa Grids invested UAH 620 mln in improving reliability of power supply over the first half of 2025
DTEK Odesa Grids is actively implementing 2025 repair and investment programs. Over the first half of the year, energy workers repaired 1,700 km of lines, upgraded almost 1,500 power facilities, cleared 1,300 km of the overhead line routes from branches and drywood and completely reconstructed four distribution points.
“During the year, we are systematically preparing the grids to steadily go through the peak loads of the summer season and provide electricity to customer homes in winter. Implementation of the investment and repair programs is in full swing. By the end of the year, we plan to complete the work in full scope. Over the first six months, the company has already invested UAH 620 mln in modernization and repairs of the grids, as well as in infrastructure development. The total sum of planned funding for 2025 amounts to UAH 1.5 bln. Our priority goal is to provide Ukrainians with electricity, despite all challenges of the wartime,” — noted Dmytro Hryhoriev, CEO at DTEK Odesa Grids.
Since the beginning of 2025, DTEK Odesa Grids replaced over 30,000 obsolete meters in the homes of Ukrainians with the new “smart” ones. Energy workers are doing it without extra fee, as part of the investment program, which is approved by the state regulator NEURC. It is an important stage in a large-scale digital transformation of the distribution grids in the Odesa region, as the customers get correct electricity metering without monthly submission of readings, while energy workers manage the grids more efficiently thanks to the analysis of the data received. In 2025 it is planned to replace a total of 61,000 meters.
By the end of the year, the company plans to:
- repair over 2,200 km of the overhead lines;
- upgrade almost 1,500 power facilities;
- clear more than 1,000 km of the overhead line routes from branches and drywood;
- install 30,000 meters in the customers’ homes;
- complete reconstruction of 38 distribution points and substations.
These measures are directed at improving reliability of power supply for more than a million customers in the Odesa regions. Despite the war and constant threats, DTEK Odesa Grids continues systematic modernization of the infrastructure.
