DTEK restored electricity to 106,700 families in Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk and Odesa regions over the course of a week

From April 15 to 21, energy workers of the DTEK Grids DSO have restored power to 89 settlements, thus restoring electricity to homes of 106,700 families in Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk and Odesa regions, de-energized due to constant enemy shelling. Specialists of the DTEK Grids Distribution System Operators repair the grids, destroyed by the enemy, immediately after obtaining permission from the AFU and the SES.

Donetsk region remains an area of the most active fighting. The region is exposed to constant shelling, missile and air strikes that continue to destroy grids and substations on a daily basis. Energy workers restore electricity supply once the shelling subsides and the military provide permission for work performance. Last week, they managed to restore electricity to homes of 68,900 families in the frontline region.

Shelling of the Dnipropetrovsk region intensified, including the south of the region, which is close to the area of hostilities. Here, our specialists also managed to repair a number of grids damages and restore electricity to 36,200 families over the course of a week.

The enemy does not stop attacking the Odesa region as well. During the weekend, Odesa suffered yet another assault that damaged power lines and de-energized 1,400 families. DTEK energy workers promptly restored power supply – electricity was restored to all customers by the evening.

“For 789 days now, energy workers have been holding the energy front and providing Ukrainians with electricity in the conditions of increased risks. Since the beginning of a full-scale war, we have already restored electricity to 12 mln* families in Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa and Donetsk regions, and in the city of Kyiv. Some settlements close to the area of hostilities had electricity restored to them on dozens of occasions,” – noted Oleksandr Fomenko, CEO at DTEK Grids.

DTEK Grids energy workers are doing everything possible to eliminate damage as soon as possible. They commence work immediately after obtaining permission and access to the site of damage from the AFU and SES.
