DTEK restored electricity to more than 252,000 homes in Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa and Kyiv regions over the course of a week
The lion’s share of restorations is in the Donetsk region, where heavy fighting is ongoing. Despite the extremely difficult situation, our specialists continue to repair the grids once it becomes possible and the military provide permission for work performance. Last week, the specialists managed to restore electricity to homes of almost 240,000 local residents. They managed to carry out most of the restorations over the weekend, when yet another enemy shelling caused de-energization of almost the entire north of the region, which is more than 200,000 homes.
Energy workers in the Dnipropetrovsk region, in their turn, were able to restore power to almost 11,000 homes from January 13 to 19. Due to forthcoming of the frontline, the enemy shells Dnipropetrovsk region more and more often, regularly damaging girds and leaving residents of the region without electricity.
Kyiv region also continues to suffer from enemy attacks. Last week, energy workers restored power to 800 families here, whose homes were de-energized due to enemy attacks.
The enemy does not stop attacking the Odesa region, too: energy workers restored electricity to 764 homes of local residents over the course of the week.
“Despite constant enemy attacks and serious security challenges, energy workers continue to hold the energy front for 1,062 days now. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, we have already restored electricity to more than 16.8 mln* families in Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa and Donetsk regions, and in the city of Kyiv. Some settlements close to the area of hostilities had electricity restored to them on dozens of occasions,” – noted Alina Bondarenko, CEO at DTEK Grids.
DTEK Grids energy workers are doing everything possible to eliminate damage as soon as possible. They commence work immediately after obtaining permission and access to the site of damage from the AFU and SES.
