Electricity restored to 149,000 families: DTEK has restored power to 166 settlements last week

Over the course of a week (May 30 through June 5), DTEK emergency crews have restored service to 149,000 families in Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk and Kyiv regions, thus restoring electricity to 166 settlements. Many of these settlements required restoration of electricity on multiple occasions.

The situation with hostilities in the north of the Donetsk region becomes more complicated every day, thus increasing the risk of power outages due to damage of the grids or shutdown of some energy enterprises. DTEK together with all other services is doing everything possible to restore electricity to the homes of region’s residents. About 20 DTEK crews are working every day to ensure stable power supply.

Over the course of a week (May 30 through June 5), DTEK energy workers have restored electricity to 134,641 families in 122 settlements of the Donetsk region despite active hostilities. Due to the regular shelling, energy workers had to repair the grids on 5 occasions or more.

We ask residents to treat possible power supply issues with understanding. Unfortunately, shelling of territories continues, causing damage to the grids’ infrastructure and shutdown of energy enterprises.

Kryvyi Rih district of the Dnipropetrovsk region frequently suffers from enemy shelling as well. DTEK emergency crews have restored electricity to more than 6,000 families in 20 settlements of the region last week.

On June 1, DTEK emergency crews have promptly (over the course of two hours) restored service to almost 9,000 families in 24 settlements of the Kyiv region, left without electricity due to the damage of power lines, caused by missile strikes.

DTEK specialists and machinery continue to help restore energy facilities of Ukrzaliznytsia. Our specialists are working at 3 facilities, damaged by the enemy shelling.

Emergency crews of energy workers are working non-stop for 103 days in a row to promptly restore power to settlements, affected by hostilities.

DTEK electricians together with doctors, volunteers, suppliers of essential food and medicine are doing everything within their power to support Ukraine and Ukrainians in these difficult circumstances.
