DTEK Dnipro Grids hired 15 dual students

DTEK Dnipro Grids has employed 15 students from 5 higher educational institutions of the Dnipropetrovsk region, who have been studying under dual program in 2021/22 academic year. The youth will take the jobs of electricians and specialists, receive stable salary and social guarantees. In just three years of dual education project implementation DTEK Dnipro Grids has employed 43 students.

In 2022, despite difficult situation in the country, DTEK Dnipro Grids continues to support talented youth. The company provides students with opportunities for vocational training, employment and decent salary in compliance with Sustainable Development Goal of the UN Global Compact No. 8 – “Decent work and economic development”.

During 2021/22 academic year, the company has selected 23 students from six educational institutions of the region to take the dual education program: NTU Dnipro Polytechnic, Dnipro State College of Energy and Information Technologies, Kamianske State Energy College, Ukrainian Polytechnic College of State University of Economics and Technology, Polytechnic College of Kryvyi Rih National University and Professional College of Rocket and Space Engineering of the O. Honchar DNU.

“DTEK is a reliable and responsible company. Implementation of the dual education program helps senior students of specialized specialties to combine theoretical knowledge with practical skills in actual workplace environment. Following the completion of training, the youth received an offer of permanent employment. Thus, out of 23 dual students, this year 15 students from 5 higher educational institutions became employees of DTEK Dnipro Grids,” – notes the company.

Dual students are studying under an individual program, 40% of which is theory, while 60% is practice directly at the enterprise. The company provides students with salary and full social package (medical insurance, vacation, sick leaves, etc.). For the period of study, all students sign a three-way contracts for dual education, as well as fixed-term employment contracts.

“Dual education opens up an opportunity to study and work in parallel. After completion of study, I have a job, and I have skills and knowledge that can be obtained only during the working process. For me it is a very good experience,” – says Hanna Pavlenko, a graduate at the Dnipro Polytechnic, now – a contracts department technician at DTEK Dnipro Grids.
