“DTEK is a conscious business that serves the interests of Ukraine. We consistently upgrade the energy infrastructure in Donetsk Region, making it more efficient and eco-friendly. The primary goals of the company are reconstruction and technical re-equipment of 12 substations of 110 and 35kV. This will enhance its reliability and improve the quality of power supply for our customers,” says Oleksii Degtiarev, DTEK High-Voltage Grids CEO.

The volume of the DTEK High-Voltage Grids investment program for 2021 got bigger by 35% compared to 2020, owing to the incentive tariff setting introduced starting January 1, 2021. Now, the state regulator NEURC uses a new, more efficient method to set a tariff for electricity distribution, which makes it possible to increase the financing volume and develop the power grids.

Investments will be allocated to improve the quality of power supply to customers in tune with the planned indicators determined by NEURC: reducing electricity losses in power grids and improving the SAIDI indicator (power outage time).

DTEK will replace the old switching equipment with modern one in substations, re-equip relay protection devices, automation and automatic remote control in order to improve the power supply in Mariupol, Druzhkovka, Konstantinovka, Kurakhovo, Volnovakhsky, Bakhmutsky, Dobropolsky, Slavyansky Districts. The total cost of projects is UAH 123 million.

In addition, the company will invest UAH 22 million in the reconstruction of the 35 kV Dobropolie - Annovka line with a length of 7 km. Replacing the existing wire with a wire of large cross-section will increase the capacity of the line and provide reliable power supply to most of the Dobropolsky District.

The priority area of the investment program is the development of automated dispatch and technological control systems, automatic remote control and communication channels, IT technologies, technical re-equipment of the geographic information system. DTEK High-Voltage Grids earmarks UAH 21 million in these projects. This will enable efficient management of the energy infrastructure across the region. In addition, the company will invest UAH 6 million in the modernization and purchase of specialized vehicles.

The goal of all projects of the investment program is to ensure that each customer has a high quality, reliable and uninterrupted power supply.

NEURC (National Energy and Utilities Regulatory Commission of Ukraine) approved the company investment program for 2021.
