Until the end of 2020, DTEK Kyiv Grids specialists will reconstruct cable lines that provide light to Teremky and Feofaniya residents. In particular, more than 11 kilometers of 10 kV electric cable will be overhauled. The project implementation will meet the growing needs of the Goloseevsky District residents in electricity, and provide them with a reliable and modern source of power supply.

As part of the project, four medium voltage cable lines (10 kV) will be reconstructed in Goloseevsky District. The first two go from the 110/10 kV "Universitet" Substation and end at Distribution Point 201. The other two run from the 110/10 kV Teremky Substation up to Distribution Point 67. Their total length is over 11 kilometers.

DTEK takes care of its clients, and consistently upgrades the energy infrastructure of the capital. By the end of the year, we will have four cable lines fully renewed in Teremky and Feofaniya. Investments in the project will amount to over UAH 22 million. The upgraded network is being built using modern materials that will serve the Kyiv people for decades meeting their electricity needs,” says Denis Bondar, Acting Director General of DTEK Kyiv Grids.

Instead of old cables, DTEK Kyiv Grids specialists will lay new ones with cross-linked polyethylene insulation. Their minimum service life is 30 years. In addition, they have a larger cross section, and, consequently, a greater capacity. This will keep up with the growing demand of Teremky and Feofaniya for electric energy for many years.

In addition to the cable itself, grounding will also be provided during the reconstruction, and current transformers will be replaced at the Universitet Substation, Teremky Substation, Distribution Point 67, and Distribution Point 201. A separate paragraph provides for the landscaping restoration within the installation work areas in a full scope.

The need to reconstruct these lines is caused by their obsolescence and depreciation. Each of them has already worked out the standard operating life. In addition, within the areas that provide light from these lines, electricity consumption has significantly increased due to active development. As a result, the network is operating at full capacity, and needs to be replaced.
