2,500 new home solar power plants were connected to DTEK Grids at year-end 2020
The State Agency for Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine reported that 8,000 home solar power plants were installed in 2020. Now there are 30,000 prosumers in Ukraine in total. In 2020, 2,582 such plants were connected to the networks of DTEK Grids distribution systems operators, and 8,491 in total.
“DTEK transforms its business in compliance with the New Strategy 2030, which is based on ESG principles, values and business responsibility for progress in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals of the UN Global Compact. DTEK Grids promotes the connection of green generation facilities, develops energy infrastructure and provides free access to it for all customers. The leader in connecting solar power plants to the grid in Ukraine is DTEK Dnipro Grids. In 2020 alone, we connected 1,404 new home solar power plants to the DSO networks, and there are 4,017 of them in total in the region,” says Ivan Geliukh, DTEK Grids CEO.
DTEK Grids underlines that the demand for connecting small-distributed generation to the power grid infrastructure remains consistently high.
The number of home solar PV systems significantly increased in all regions where the DSO companies operate at year-end 2020:
- DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids connected 559 new solar power plants; 2,344 in total;
- DTEK Kyiv Grids connected 41 new solar power plants; 222 in total;
- DTEK Odesa Grids connected 328 new solar power plants; 1,273 in total;
- DTEK Donetsk Grids connected 250 new solar power plants; 635 in total;
- DTEK Dnipro Grids connected 1,404 new solar power plants; 4,017 in total.
