"DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids serves the Ukraine’s interests. We pay considerable attention to the development of electric networks in the Kyiv region, so that each customer has lights on and comfort at home. That is why in the first half of this year, our company was able to meet the targets in key performance indicators and earmark UAH 494 million to the development of networks. The total volume of the investment program in 2021 is UAH 618 million,” says Vitaliy Shayda, General Director of DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids.

During 6 months of this year, DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids spent UAH 494 million on upgrading the Kyiv region's electricity infrastructure: UAH 358 million on new construction, UAH 118 million on reconstruction of 0.4-110 kV substations and power lines, UAH 14 million on fleet renovation and UAH 4 million to replace electricity meters for customers.

Two large-scale projects are in the final stage - the reconstruction of the 110/10 Gostomel substation, which is 70% complete, and the construction of the 110/35/10 kV Kozyn substation, which is 80% complete. The company plans to put these facilities into operation in the fall this year. During the reporting period, DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids invested UAH 84 million in these projects. The total cost of construction of Gostomel and Kozyn substations will be UAH 220 million. When construction is complete, the substations will provide the company's customers with additional capacity, thus equipment will work without overload, which, in turn, will improve the quality and reliability of energy supply to the company's customers in these areas.

In H1 2021, energy consumption still tended to increase in the Kyiv region. The company supplied more than 4,000 MWh of electricity to its customers, which is 10% more than in the same period last year. The increase in energy consumption in the Kyiv region is due to the large number of new connections. For the convenience, customers can request a new connection on the company's website online.

DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids also renewed its fleet of vehicles and special equipment, which costed UAH 14 million. The company distributed 26 units of new special equipment to regional divisions of Kyiv region. Thanks to the new vehicles, the company will be in a position to timely diagnose and repair of electrical equipment, speed up the time to eliminate failures and fulfill customer requests.

This year, DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids continues its program to replace electricity meters. The company replaced more than 18,000 electricity meters for its customers in the Kyiv region for more than UAH 4 million at no cost. The new meters will provide more accurate metering of electricity consumption and increase the quality of electricity for the company's customers.

Let us recalled that DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids plans to increase investments 1.8 times to UAH 618 million thanks to the RAB tariff in 2021.
