Electricity restored to 7,300 families: DTEK continues to repair the grids after shelling in the Donetsk region
On July 19, DTEK Donetsk Grids specialists managed to completely or partially restore power to 17 settlements, thus restoring electricity to 7,351 households in Bakhmut, Kramatorsk and Pokrovsk districts.
3,300 of these households in Kramatorsk community had electricity restored to them in less than 24 hours. Electricity was also restored to 1,600 families in Bakhmut community. Energy workers have also performed restoration activities in Sloviansk, Avdiivka, Selydove and Toretsk communities, which are being constantly shelled. Specialists of the energy company managed to restore electricity to most of them in less than 24 hours.
Performance of restoration activities in the Donetsk region requires a permit from the military. This is due to constant shelling, missile and air strikes, which can pose a threat to life and health of the company’s employees. Once energy workers obtain a permit – they immediately commence emergency and restoration activities.
318 settlements in the Donetsk region remain without electricity. The most difficult situation is in the directions of Sloviansk, Avdiivka, Marinka, Toretsk and Bakhmut.
DTEK Donetsk Grids specialists are working non-stop for 147 days in a row and are repairing equipment and lines again and again, as soon as it becomes possible.
