75 energy workers from Odessa have arrived in the Kyiv region to help restore electricity to the liberated areas of the region
11 DTEK Odessa Grids crews have arrived in the Kyiv region for rotation. These are high-voltage lines and substations repair specialists, and distribution grids repair specialists. They will replace their colleagues from Odessa region, who have been repairing grids in the districts of the Kyiv region for two weeks in a row.
“On April 28, third group of energy workers from Odessa that set off to the Kyiv region has already started restoring electrical infrastructure, destroyed during russian invasion. Currently, 13 crews and 31 pieces of special machinery of DTEK Odessa Grids are working in the Kyiv region,” – says representative of the company.
Since April 12, DTEK Odessa Grids energy workers are helping restore electrical infrastructure in the Kyiv region. They have already ensured power supply to Borodianka and Nemishaieve, as well as to nearby villages, left without electricity due to hostilities. Company’s specialists have also restored equipment on substation in the Horenka village of the Bucha district, thus energizing customers in Horenka and Kozubynske villages after restoration of lines. At present time, energy workers are repairing equipment in order to increase reliability of power supply to Irpin, Bucha, Nemishaieve and Borodianka.
“A lot was destroyed, shelled and burned in the districts of the Kyiv region, where we now help repair the grids. Nevertheless, our goal is to restore electricity to all residents of the region and energize all socially important infrastructure facilities by June 1. And we will do everything possible to reach that goal and restore electricity to every home,” – says energy worker Oleg.
Emergency and restoration crews repair grids and equipment immediately after mine clearance of these territories and provision of a permit by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. First, they repair 110-35 kV high-voltage grids that supply power to the settlements. Then, they repair 10-0.4 kV distribution grids that supply power directly to residential buildings.
Energy workers of all DTEK Grids Distribution System Operators rallied to restore electrical infrastructure, destroyed by invaders during active hostilities. Emergency and restoration crews and special machinery of DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids, DTEK Kyiv Grids, DTEK Odessa Grids and DTEK Dnipro Grids are currently working in the Kyiv region. Together, energy workers have already restored electricity to more than 110,000 families in the Kyiv region, comprising 78% of consumers that were left without electricity due to hostilities. 31,700 households in 63 settlements remain without electricity. Energy workers plan to restore service to all residents of the Kyiv region as soon as possible.
At the same time, 66 DTEK Odessa Grids operational teams are working round the clock to ensure reliable and uninterrupted power supply to Odessa and Odessa region. Currently, there are no large-scale blackouts in Odessa and Odessa region. Energy infrastructure of the region is operating stably.
