Oleksii Degtyarev: DTEK Donetsk Grids is upgrading the energy infrastructure in Mariupol
“DTEK serves the Ukraine’s interests, ensures the reliability of power supply and the comfort of its customers. Reconstruction of the city's electrical infrastructure will improve the quality and reliability of power supply to Mariupol residents. We have already completed the reconstruction of a 0.4 kV overhead power transmission line on Torgovaya Street. And this includes 76 new reinforced concrete poles, 1.35 km of aerial bundled cable. Currently, work is underway to upgrade two more lines in the Primorsky and Central Districts,” says Oleksii Degtyarev, General Director at DTEK Donetsk Grids.
Three new overhead lines with a total length of 5 km will significantly improve energy supply for 2,000 residents of Kharlampievskaya, Mitropolitskaya, Georgievskaya, Architect Nielsen, Gavanna, Rybnaya, Zheleznodorozhnaya Streets.
The company's energy workers are still pursuing the project for the transformer substations (TS) reconstruction. Installation of 8 new high-tech complete transformer substations that meet present-day requirements will ensure that there are lights on and comfort in the homes of people on Mira and Nakhimov avenues, Kuindzhi, Semashko, Bogdan, Grachev, Lazarev, Flotskaya, Bagration, Stalevarna, 1st and 2nd Slobodka streets, Prokatnuy lane. Reconstruction of the distribution point on March 8 street will provide reliable and uninterrupted power supply for more than 13,000 residents of the village of Mirny, Azovkoltso, Kurchatov Microdistrict.
Also, DTEK Donetsk Grids is upgrading two 110 kV high voltage substations. The company replaces the linear and transformer bushings of the substation "Gorod - 8" in the Livoberezhny District, and the batteries of the substation "Gorod - 3" in the Kalmiussky District.
As previously reported, DTEK Donetsk Grids launched a series of live streams #AskAboutLight, in which experts in the energy industry answer questions from residents. The first live streaming was on 3 August. Within an hour, the general director of the company, Oleksii Degtyarev, answered questions of concern to residents regarding improving the power supply quality, installing meters, reporting readings, billing, and interaction with customers.
