Audit confirmed the compliance of the Health&Safety and environmental management system at DTEK Donetsk Grids with ISO international standards
DTEK Donetsk Grids has been audited for compliance with international standards by MC Consulting LLC, which is accredited by IAS (International Accreditation Body). During the audit, experts evaluated the processes in place to ensure the high-quality functioning of systems in the company:
- Occupational health and safety management systems;
- Environmental management systems;
Continuous improvement of these processes is a prerequisite for meeting the requirements of the standards.
“DTEK is transforming the business in accordance with the New Strategy 2030, which is based on ESG principles, values and business responsibility for progress in achieving the sustainable development goals of the UN Global Compact. DTEK Donetsk Grids cares about the environment, monitors the safety of employees and customers and annually confirms this through international standardization certificates. This year the auditors visited the Mangush and Maryinsky Districts, and the company has once again successfully passed the assessment for compliance with all the requirements,” says Oleksii Degtyarev, CEO of DTEK Donetsk Grids.
During the audit, the auditors highly appreciated the following projects:
- Installation of nesting platforms for storks and bird protection devices on power lines;
- Efforts to include the aspect of the environment impact at the stages of power facility designing;
- Waste sorting and disposal;
- Monitoring the crews location using GPS systems;
- Daily monitoring of the psychophysiological condition of employees under the Safety Culture program;
- Photographic recording of technical measures done within workplaces to check the compliance, and video recording of instructions;
As previously mentioned, DTEK Grids received an award for the environmental policy, which the company consistently implements within their activities. The company has been openly recognized as a business that cares about biodiversity conservation. At the annual ECOtransformation-2020 event, DTEK received an award for its project to protect storks from electric shock.
