Audit confirmed the compliance of the occupational health&safety and environmental management system with ISO international standards at DTEK Odesa Grids

DTEK Odesa Grids focuses on occupational health and safety, and sustainability. To confirm this statement, the company successfully passed an audit and received certificates of compliance with international standards ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 14001:2015.

The representatives of MS Consulting, LLC accredited by ІАS (International Accreditation Service) audited DTEK Odesa Grids.

The audit lasted five days, thus, experts assessed the quality of the occupational health and safety management and environmental management systems. Continuous improvement of these processes is a prerequisite for confirming compliance with the standards.

DTEK Odesa Grids is a conscious business, and we adhere to European standards in our work. The company cares about the safety of employees and customers, the environment, and we confirm this with these international standardization certificates, – says Aleksandr Fomenko, DTEK Odesa Grids CEO.

The audit was in Belgorod-Dnestrovskiy, Belyaevskiy, Yuzhny, Central Distribution Zone, Odesa section of the centralized maintenance shop, as well as in the administration and OSH Department of DTEK Odesa Grids. During 2021-2022, the audit will be carried out in the remaining divisions.

The auditors rated the highest the following areas of work:

  • Installation of nesting platforms for storks on power transmission poles;
  • Include the mandatory measures to reduce the negative impact on the environment in construction projects and renovation of power facilities;
  • Construction of shielded (with a special protective coating from rain and snow) areas for storing inventory items;
  • Waste sorting and disposal;
  • Improving the sanitary and living conditions for personnel;
  • Renewing the vehicle fleet;
  • All events aimed at the development of internal communication channels of the enterprise (monthly meetings of the company's management with the team, regular informing employees about news at the stands, portal, etc.);

As previously reported, DTEK Grids won an award for the environmental policy, which they systematically implement in their activities. The company has been recognized as a conscious business that cares about biodiversity conservation. At the annual ECOtransformation 2020 event, DTEK received an award for the stork protection project. Distribution system operators have been installing nesting platforms on electrical poles since 2013. DTEK Odesa Grids joined the project in 2020.
