DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids emergency crews have switched to the high alert mode due to the storm

There is a storm in the Kyiv region – heavy rain, thunderstorms and squally wind gusts of 15-20 m/s. The storm has already caused some power outages in the region. DTEK crews have been transferred to the high alert mode in order to eliminate any blackouts as soon as possible.

Thunderstorm and squally wind left 6 settlements completely without electricity and 32 − partially. Most of the outages are currently observed in Irpin energy center.

DTEK is a reliable and responsible company that takes care of its customers and does everything to ensure that there is always light in their homes. First, specialists restore power to socially significant consumers, such as hospitals, industrial facilities, large areas with the largest number of de-energized buildings and apartments. Also, a priority is given to the repair of 35-110 kV high-voltage lines, which power most customers, then to 6-10 kV lines. When high and medium voltage power facilities are restored, company’s specialists will proceed to 0.4 kV lines that directly feed customers' homes.

“Our crews have already switched to the enhanced duty mode and are ready to promptly restore electricity to the customers’ homes. 30 crews are currently engaged in restoration activities. If the storm will lead to more significant power outages, we will engage additional crews to eliminate them. We also remind residents of the Kyiv region that during the storm it is better to stay home and be careful,”informed the company.

DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids reminds of the following safety rules:

  • avoid staying near power lines during strong wind;
  • if you discover broken lines, please stay 8-12 meters away, never touch bare wire and inform the company immediately;
  • in case of blackouts, do not try to perform repair by yourself. If a blackout happened in an apartment or house – call an electrician, servicing your house. If there is a blackout at the entire street – contact DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids specialists;

Please use any convenient way to inform about any emergency on the grids:

We are working 24/7 to ensure reliable power supply of houses and enterprises.
