DTEK Odessa Grids emergency crews went into high alert mode due to bad weather

According to weather forecasters, difficult weather conditions are expected in some regions of Ukraine until the end of the week. In particular, rains, storms, 15-20 m/s squally wind gusts are forecasted in the Odessa region for the next couple of days. DTEK crews were transferred to the high alert mode in order to eliminate blackouts in case of weather worsening.

Difficult weather conditions lead to mass emergencies on electrical equipment, broken power transmission lines due to strong wind gusts, fallen branches or trees and, consequently, loss of electricity for many customers in the Odessa region.

“DTEK Odessa Grids crews were transferred to the high alert mode for elimination of bad weather consequences and, in case of blackouts, are ready to promptly restore electricity to the customers. We remind residents of the Odessa and Odessa region that it is recommended to stay at home during bad weather and be careful,” – said representative of the company.

Distribution System Operator reminds the safety rules:

  • avoid power transmission lines during strong wind;
  • do not approach broken lines and never touch bare wire;

Please, inform us about all emergencies in the grids in any suitable way. During bad weather, lines of the call center may be overloaded, so the company recommends customers use online services.
