High Fire Danger: DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids reminds customers about how to stay safe around power facilities
According to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, a high fire danger and wind gusts of up to 15 meters per second are expected in the Kyiv region during August 13-14. DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids asks the residents of the region to be especially careful and not to make fires, not to burn dry grass, and observe safety rules near power facilities.
The risk of fires and large fires increases significantly in dry and windy weather. DTEK is a conscious and reliable company. Taking care of safety and comfort of customers, DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids notifies that careless handling of fire, burning dead wood in open areas can cause serious damage to overhead power lines and substations. And, consequently, lead to the power cuts to entire settlements and enterprises. Forest and steppe fires lead to negative consequences for ecosystems, human life, and health.
DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids reminds of the safety rules near power facilities:
- It is strictly forbidden to make fires, burn stubble, leave flammable materials and put garbage at power lines and transformer substations;
- When choosing a picnic place, pay attention to energy facilities. It should be away from the line of the power networks security zone, i.e., 20 meters on both sides for 110 kV overhead lines and 10 meters for 6-10 kV overhead lines;
- If you see wires that have fallen to the ground, broken or sagging wires, open doors, or hatches to power facilities, please, keep away from them and inform the company in any convenient way.
