In order to prepare for the heating season, DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids will repair almost 700 km of lines
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine predicts a difficult 2022-2023 heating season. Implementation of a repair program is a DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids contribution to a stable cold season. As of now, company’s specialists have already conducted about 550 repairs of power lines. Such measures increase reliability and sustainability of the city energy grid and reduce its accident rate.
“DTEK Group is a responsible business, partner of society and state. Since the first days of active hostilities in the Kyiv region, our crews have been repairing grids, destroyed by the occupants, and restoring electricity to Ukrainians and critical infrastructure facilities. We have restored about 10,000 kilometers of lines, repaired and switched on 71 high-voltage substations and 2,975 transformer substations, thus restoring electricity to the entire region. The company has invested about UAH 300 mln in restoration of power supply. Due to the conducted restoration activities, the company had to adjust its program of scheduled repairs. We use all financial and technical resources that the company owes to the stimulating RAB regulation to prepare for the difficult 2022-2023 autumn-winter period. It is a big job for companies’ energy workers and our contribution to the stable 2022-2023 autumn-winter period,” – noted DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids.
Besides, specialists of the Distribution System Operator will clear over 3,000 km of overhead power lines from green spaces. It will reduce grids breakdowns, especially in settlements with mostly private houses.
DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids calls on service companies to take a responsible attitude to the preparation of high-rise buildings for winter as well. They are the ones responsible for and taking care of condition of intra-house networks of the high-rise buildings. Before the beginning of the autumn-winter period, housing offices, condominiums and managing companies should inspect their equipment, conduct required maintenance and eliminate malfunctions in order to ensure reliable power supply of buildings.
