DTEK is a reliable and conscious company that cares about its customers and does everything to ensure that their homes are always well-lit and comfortable. This year we are investing over UAH 88 million in the repair and maintenance of equipment for electrical networks across Kyiv Region. Thus, we will be in a position to repair 3,826 kilometers of power transmission lines, 1,485 transformer stations of 10/0.4kV and 40 substations of 35-110kV. Since the beginning of the year, the energy workers have already completed almost 40% of the scope of works planned for the year: they repaired 1,480 km of overhead lines, 280 transformer substations, repaired 235 pieces of 10kV cable lines and cleared 1,888 kilometers of overhead electrical networks from bushes and overgrown trees,” says Vitaliy Shaida, CEO of DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids.

According to the CEO, scheduled maintenances are essential for the stable functioning of the entire energy system in Kyiv Region. The maintenance campaign includes maintenance, routine repairs and overhaul of equipment, replacement, and restoration of old and worn-out network elements. Repair, replacement or maintenance of transformers, switches, disconnectors, cable and overhead lines, electrical supports, pruning of trees under power lines, etc. If such measures are completed when due, there are fewer accidents, and therefore the power in our customers' homes is less likely to cut off unpredictably.

By the end of the year, DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids will do the work at 40 high-voltage substations of 35-110 kV. They will repair and maintain power transformers, transformer bushings, complex switchgears, ventilation systems, etc.

The following maintenance will be done on medium and low voltage networks:

  • 1,205 transformer substations and distribution points;
  • 2,031 km of 0.4-10 kV overhead lines;
  • 325 cable lines of 10kV;

Also, more than 1,978 kilometers of overhead lines will be cleared of bushes and overgrowth of trees. This means that these lines will become safer and more reliable.

DTEK is upgrading the energy sector, making it more efficient. Thus, in addition to repair work, DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids has been investing into the construction of new and reconstruction of existing power facilities throughout the year. As previously reported, the company will invest more than UAH 614 million in the electrical infrastructure of Kyiv Region in 2021. Using these funds, DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids will build a new 110/35/10 kV Kozin substation with two 40 MVA transformers and a 110 kV Pidgirtsi-Kozin supply cable line. This will provide Obukhiv and the district with reserve capacities that will improve the quality and reliability of power supply and boost the development of construction and industry. The company will also reconstruct substations, distribution points, cable and overhead lines and will continue to develop the smart grid system.
