To ensure stable power supply in winter: a large-scale network reconstruction in the Nikopol district
In recent years, quite a lot of the district residents have been switching to electric heating, which in turn has increased the power load on the network and had an impact on the power supply quality. For the electricity supply to be stable and of high quality, the DTEK Dnipro Grids specialists are re-equipping the electrical infrastructure in residential areas: they are upgrading the lines and replacing the equipment. They also modernize transformer substations, increasing their reliability and providing additional power reserves.
“DTEK makes every effort to keep every home warm and comfortable in winter. Therefore, we are carrying out a large-scale reconstruction of networks in the Nikopol District, which will ensure reliable power supply, especially during peak winter loads. To do this, we engage the crews from other divisions (Apostolovo, Kryvyi Rih, Verkhnedneprovsk, Sinelnikovo). We will finish all the work by the end of November and will invest about UAH 1.3 million in this,” says Andrii Tereshchuk, General Director for DTEK Dnipro Grids.
In total, the company is investing more than UAH 66 million in the renewal of the energy infrastructure in the Nikopol district this year. Now, repairs are ongoing on Stalevarnaya, Kostromskaya, Barvystaya, Metallurgov and Zavodskaya streets in Nikopol. And also, Novaya Street in the village of Pridneprovske, and the Kryvyi and Korotkiy lanes, Izvilistaya Street and Naberezhny Descent in Marganets.
DTEK Dnipro Grids urges residents to be patient and understanding of planned outages during reconstruction. Such temporary power outages are a must during repairs since they will prevent outages in the winter.
Repairs are carried out only on weekdays, mainly between 8:30AM and 7:30PM. You can find out the schedule on the company's website.
As previously reported, the company will invest more than UAH 1 billion in the region's electrical infrastructure in 2021. Within the Big Network Renovation program, a powerful 150 kV Grushevskaya substation is being reconstructed in the Nikopol district, which provides electricity to more than 35,000 residents of Manganets. As well as a cable line from the Stroymash substation and 9 large-scale distribution points.
