DTEK Donetsk Grids plans to complete the reconstruction of more than 114 kilometers of electric lines by the end of the year. Thanks to these works, the residents of the region will have a reliable and up-to-date power supply. The company is in a position to make such technical upgrade thanks to investment incentive RAB tariff introduced in 2021, which made it possible to invest 72% more in 2021 compared to 2020. These funds are used to modernize and develop the energy infrastructure of the region in accordance with the needs of its residents.

Medium and low voltage lines will be reconstructed. That is, the lines which directly supply power to residents of the controlled portion of the Donetsk region, enterprises, and organizations. The company has now completely reconstructed 19 km of power lines. In total, in 2021, DTEK Donetsk Grids plans to completely replace more than 114 kilometers of power transmission lines, 36 distribution points and transformer substations. For comparison, in 2020, the company could upgrade only 23 objects.

Thanks to the transition to an investment stimulating RAB tariff in 2021, the company could increase the amount of funds that DTEK invests in projects for the complete replacement of power equipment. Thus, DTEK Donetsk Grids increased the investment program by 72% compared to 2020. In 2021, the company plans to invest UAH 332 million in the network.

During the reconstruction of power lines, DTEK Donetsk Grids fully replaces the electrical wire. If this is a cable line, then a new and up-to-date cable will be laid underground, instead of an old worn-out cable, which has better isolation and flow characteristics. If an overhead line is reconstructed, then new safe aerial bundled conductors will be installed and, if necessary, utility poles will be replaced.

Now the upgrade continues. When completed, the company will restore the landscape of the territory where it was technologically required to dismantle the road surface, lawns, and the like.
