DTEK Dnipro Grids prepared the power infrastructure for the cold season and increased demand for electricity, spending more than UAH 100 million for this. The company carried out repairs and maintenance of power assets, cleared more than 3,000 km of routes under electric lines from greenery. These measures will reduce failures and ensure the stability of power supply to customers in the autumn and winter period.

“DTEK strives to become the benchmark for customer focus. We have repaired 943 km of overhead and cable lines. We prepared for operation in winter 467 transformer distribution substations. They also cleared the green spaces under the overhead lines, which will help to avoid blackouts and failures in bad weather. Thanks to these works, we plan to go through the cold season as usual and ensure comfort in our customers’ homes,” says Oleksiy Ivakhnenko, Head of the Emergency Operations Department at DTEK Dnipro Grids.

Preparations for the new heating season began in the spring. Experts have performed a significant amount of work at power facilities in the region.

Thus, they cleared 400 km of lines in the Nikopol area and laid new cable lines for the Nikopol City hospital No. 4. The company repaired 48 km of overhead and more than 5 km of cable lines in Dnipro. They renewed 62 transformer substations and installed new unloading transformer substations for residents of the private sector of the SevHOK railway and other residential areas in Kryvyi Rih. Thanks to this, customers will have a stable power supply during the cold season.

In turn, the company notes that in addition to the distribution network equipment (transformer and distribution substations, cable and overhead lines), which are serviced by DTEK Dnipro Grids, there are also in-house networks. Owners of private houses should deal with them and prepare them for peak power consumption. If you live in a high-rise apartment building, management companies, housing services, condominiums, and other service organizations are responsible for them. The reliability of power supply directly from customers depends on their technical condition.

Also, in the autumn and winter period, the energy company advises the residents of the region to be more rational about energy consumption and not to exceed the contractual capacity specified in the distribution agreement. Should they neglect this, there could be emergency situations, and not only in a separate apartment, but also in the house and the whole neighborhood. If it is needed to increase the contractual capacity, please contact DTEK Dnipro Grids.
