DTEK Dnipro Grids helped restore electricity to residents of Kherson region

DTEK Dnipro Grids ensured power supply to one of the high voltage lines of “Khersonoblenergo” JSC, damaged by shelling on Thursday, March 24. On Saturday, it was restored and connected to the lines from the Dnipropetrovsk region, thus restoring power supply to residents of Dnipropetrovsk and Kherson regions, who were connected to this section of the grids and lost electricity.

ing. Power capacity of this substation has significantly decreased due to the outage.

Understanding importance of power supply in the military environment, DTEK Dnipro Grids has promptly transferred it to the redundant power supply circuit. Additionally, the company has assisted its Kherson counterparts in restoring power supply to the areas without electricity.

Specialists of the high-voltage grids operation department’s western division have inspected “Khersonoblenergo” line, repaired it and reconnected to the line from the Dnipropetrovsk region. At this point, it is energized and DTEK Dnipro Grids crews have fully restored reliability of power supply to both company’s substation and to facilities of “Khersonoblenergo” JSC.

Besides, in the course of the past 24 hours electricians have restored power supply to 21,400 families in six districts of Dnipropetrovsk region that lost electricity due to severe weather. Squally wind caused broken post, 2 damaged transformers and large-scale wire breaks due to fallen tall-growing trees. 17 crews and 22 pieces of equipment were involved in emergency elimination.

As of March 28, one settlement in a rural area remains completely without electricity (Shyroke village, about 70 customers). DTEK Dnipro Grids emergency crews are working non-stop in order to promptly restore power supply. Emergency and restoration activities in the region are to be completed by the end of the day.

Earlier, DTEK Dnipro Grids has provided power supply to six large substations of “Mykolaivoblenergo” JSC, left without electricity due to shelling. The company is ready to provide further assistance to all Distribution System Operators of neighboring regions, affected by hostilities. Company’s workers have specific guidelines related to working in emergencies and are provided with everything needed to restore operation of equipment upon obtaining permits from the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
