DTEK Dnipro Grids restored electricity to more than 10,000 homes that suffered from storm and shelling

DTEK Dnipro Grids emergency crews have completely restored power to all 48 settlements in the Dnipropetrovsk region that were left without electricity due to yesterday storm. Electricity was restored to homes of 8,000 families of the region’s residents. Electricity was also restored to 2,700 families in the Nikopol district that was shelled once again.

On July 21, thunderstorms with squally wind caused damage to lines and massive blackouts in the region. Most blackouts happened in Dnipro and Novomoskovsk districts. In order to eliminate consequences of the storm DTEK Dnipro Grids has engaged 16 emergency and repair crews that put their maximum effort to restore power to all affected districts as soon as possible.

Over the course of a day, energy workers managed to restore power to all 48 settlements that suffered from the storm. Specialists have promptly restored operation of damaged lines and de-energized transformer substations, thus restoring electricity to more than 8,000 homes of the region’s residents.

Additionally, energy workers have eliminated damage to the grids, caused by enemy shelling in the Nikopol district, thus restoring electricity to 2,700 families in 2 settlements.

In the morning of July 22, after another large-scale night attack on the Dnipropetrovsk region, new damages to lines were registered in Nikopol and Kryvyi Rih districts. DTEK Dnipro Grids emergency crews will conduct restoration activities immediately after obtaining a permit from the AFU and State Emergency Service.
