DTEK Dnipro Grids brings power back to more than 10,000 people in the region

Power supply has been restored to all settlements that were left without electricity due to bad weather within Dnipropetrovsk Region. DTEK Dnipro Grids got more than 300 transformer substations and 28 de-energized 6-10 kV lines back up and running. The electricity was returned to all weather-hit areas.

A squall wind and thunderstorm that raged on the night of May 17 led to blackouts. As of Monday morning, 37 settlements were de-energized completely, and about 30 settlements were de-energized partially. Most of them are in Nikopol, Shirokovsky and Pyatikhatsky Districts.

DTEK serves the Ukraine’s interests, takes care of its customers, and does everything to ensure that their homes always have electricity, warmth, and comfort. Our energy workers worked 24/7 to restore power to the hardest-hit areas. About 22 teams were involved to eliminate the consequences of severe weather, counting 86 experts, and 24 pieces of equipment. The electricity supply has now been fully restored.

According to the information from the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Center for Hydrometeorology, the weather conditions will get worse within the region between May 18 and 20. In Dnipro and some other areas of the region, gusts of south wind of 15-20 meters per second are expected, as well as thunderstorms and hail in some areas. An extreme (V class) fire hazard has been declared in the region.

Emergency teams of DTEK Dnipro Grids continue to work under no timeline 24/7 to ensure reliable power supply to customers.

DTEK Dnipro Grids asks residents of the region to stay at home if possible and be careful not to approach bare wires, broken lines, and emergency trees.
