Overnight DTEK Dnipro Grids restored power supply in 115 settlements that lost power after rough weather

In the Dnipropetrovsk Region, some of the settlements were left without power due to bad weather, which hit the area from the evening of July 29. DTEK Dnipro Grids energy workers worked all night to restore power supply to the areas affected by the thunderstorm. As of this morning, more than 80 lines and 700 transformer substations have resumed their operation. The power supply was returned to 115 rural settlements, which lost power completely or partially. The power was restored for almost 35,000 customers.

The city of Dnipro, as well as the Novomoskovsky, Pavlogradsky and Sinelnikovsky Districts witnessed the most outages. Thunderstorms and gusty winds caused blackouts and breaks of 85 lines and 936 transformer substations.

About 90 emergency electrician teams worked all night. By morning, they had restored power to most of their customers. 10 settlements still have no power completely, and 11 have no power partially. Specialists are working to restore power supply for more than 1,200 subscribers in Dnipro who were left without power due to damage to the lines.

DTEK is a reliable and conscious company that cares about its customers. So, we have focused our efforts and resources to struggle with the elements and return comfort to every home of our customers. We involved about 170 specialists and 73 pieces of equipment to eliminate accidents. We are bringing more teams to Dnipro because there are still many blackouts,” says Andrii Tereshchuk, CEO at DTEK Dnipro Grids.

Emergency teams of DTEK Dnipro Grids are still on full alert 24/7 to return power to customers' homes as soon as possible.

According to forecasters, squally winds, showers, and thunderstorms will be hitting the region on July 30. Therefore, the teams are getting ready for new challenges of bad weather. Experts monitor the situation and are ready to respond promptly to possible new failures.

DTEK Dnipro Grids asks the residents to be careful, and not to approach bare wires, broken lines, open doors, and hatches of electrical installations, as well as damaged poles and trees.
