DTEK Dnipro Grids is eliminating consequences of last night’s bad weather

DTEK Dnipro Grids emergency crews are eliminating consequences of bad weather that has been ongoing in the Dnipropetrovsk region since the night of January 8. By Monday morning, snowstorm left nearly 50,000 homes in more than 250 settlements without electricity. Despite adverse weather conditions, energy workers make every effort to restore power supply in the region as soon as possible.

The snow cyclone that covered Dnipropetrovsk region last night caused damages in the grids almost throughout the region. As of the morning of December 8, 158 overhead lines of various voltage class have been de-energized. 162 settlements remain completely without electricity, and 89 – partially. Nearly 50,000 families overall. 

DTEK Dnipro Grids specialists are working in high alert mode in order to eliminate damages as soon as possible. More than 109 crews (320 employees and 115 items of machinery) were engaged to eliminate consequences of bad weather. Energy workers make every effort to restore electricity to every home. 

According to forecasts of meteorologists, further worsening of weather conditions is expected in the Dnipropetrovsk region on January 8: increased frost, heavy snow (with formation of cover up to 30 cm thick), wind gusts of 15-20 m/s, blizzard, snowdrifts. This may cause more broken lines and emergencies in the grids.
