DTEK Dnipro Grids reminds residents of the Dnipropetrovsk region about the safety rules near power facilities
“In summer, people spend more time outdoors. Sometimes, they choose places of stay and recreation near power facilities – electric poles, substations, etc. Staying near such facilities may be dangerous if you do not follow specific rules. Electric current is a hazard that requires the utmost care and attention,” –DTEK Dnipro Grids remarked.
Please remember that the following is prohibited when staying near the power facilities:
- opening doors and entering transformer and distribution substations;
- performing earthworks in the protected zone of the power lines without the consent of DTEK Dnipro Grids;
- approaching the broken wires closer than 8 meters and touching them. Broken radio and communication lines also contain a threat, as they can touch wires of the power lines;
- climbing the poles of the overhead power lines, all the more trying to remove the wire;
- building any structures, stacking firewood, straw, etc., starting fire in places where overhead or cable power lines pass and where they enter houses, structures;
- throwing metal or any other objects on the overhead power lines, breaking insulators;
- arranging playgrounds and holding games under the overhead lines, flying kites near the overhead lines and playing near electrical installations;
- fishing in the immediate vicinity of the power lines;
- it is forbidden to burn residual deadwood, stubble, straw and garbage within the protected zone of the overhead power lines, which is: 8 meters for 0.4-6 kV power lines, 15 meters for 35 kV power lines, 25 meters for 150 kV power lines either side of the projection of outer wires;
As informed earlier, DTEK Dnipro Grids emergency crews have completely repaired the grids after the russians’ missile and artillery strikes that took place on August 7.
