DTEK Donetsk Grids continues restorations after bad weather: electricity has been restored to homes of 43,000 families
Temperature in the Dnipropetrovsk region remains at the level that does not allow melting of ice cover. Not only old trees, but also quite young ones cannot withstand the weight of ice. The same way power lines and poles sometimes cannot withstand the excess weight. Electrical equipment is constantly damaged by the fall of green plantings too.
Specialists of the energy company were able to restore operation of 595 transformer substations, 7 lines of 110 kV, 6 lines of 35 kV, 4 substations of 110 kV and 8 substations of 35 kV over the course of the day, thus restoring power to 62 settlements, de-energized due to bad weather. Electricity has been restored to homes of 43,200 families.
Power outages caused by bad weather continue. DTEK Donetsk Grids emergency and repair crews are working on restoration of electricity to 40,000 families in 168 settlements.
60 crews of DTEK Donetsk Grids specialists are working on restorations.
Bad weather is ongoing, and so do the hostilities. Energy workers will continue to work in the high alert mode until the electricity is restored wherever possible. However, we ask residents of the region to treat possible delays of restorations with understanding, as the scale of bad weather is large.
Additionally, please be reminded of the need to follow electrical safety rules:
- do not stay near power lines during strong wind;
- do not approach broken wire closer than 8-12 meters and never touch it;
- If you see wires that fell to the ground, ruptured or sagging wires, open doors and hatches of electrical installations, as well as damaged poles, please, inform us via the energy company’s call center or via private messages on our Facebook page;
If you have a power outage, please inform us about it in a convenient way: via remote service channels: DTEK Donetsk Grids website, company’s Facebook page. You can also contact the call center: +38 (093/099) 450 0 473, though it may take more time due to a large number of calls.
Energy workers are working 24/7 and doing everything possible to provide electricity to every home. Only together and with joint efforts will we be able to endure and overcome these dark times!
