DTEK Donetsk Grids restored electricity to more than 20,000 families, de-energized due to bad weather

Bad weather returned to the Donetsk region: icy rain covered everything around with a layer of ice, including grids and power equipment. And by the morning, it caused lots of fallen trees. Energy workers have already managed to restore power to homes of more than 20,000 residents. We continue to work on restoration of electricity to more than 50,000 more families. The works are greatly complicated by glaze ice, icing and hostilities in the region.

Another case of bad weather brought new outages to the Donetsk region. Nevertheless, DTEK Donetsk Grids specialists were able to restore power 5 settlements, de-energized due to weather conditions, thus restoring electricity to more than 20,000 families.

However, icing and mass falling of trees caused large-scale outages. More than 100 settlements were de-energized. Over 50,000 families remain without electricity. Energy workers are working to restore electricity to them. 59 crews are engaged in restoration activities.

Bad weather is ongoing, trees continue to fall, therefore outages continue. Restoration activities are also greatly complicated by active hostilities in the region. We ask residents of the region to show understanding: energy workers will continue to work in the high alert mode until the electricity is restored wherever possible.

Additionally, please be reminded of the need to follow electrical safety rules:

  • do not stay near power lines during strong wind;
  • do not approach broken wire closer than 8-12 meters and never touch it;
  • If you see wires that fell to the ground, ruptured or sagging wires, open doors and hatches of electrical installations, as well as damaged poles, please, inform us via the energy company’s call center or via private messages on our Facebook page;

If you have a power outage, please inform us about it in a convenient way: via remote service channels: DTEK Donetsk Grids website, company’s Facebook page. You can also contact the call center: +38 (093/099) 450 0 473, though it may take more time due to a large number of calls.

Energy workers are working 24/7 and doing everything possible to provide electricity to every home. Only together and with joint efforts will we be able to endure and overcome these dark times!
