DTEK Donetsk Grids technicians have replaced 921 meters in the homes of Mariupol people free of charge. Instead of old metering devices, they installed new modern ones that help to cut down some expenses*. Power engineers urge the citizens to admit the power company workers into their homes to do the job.

New two-zone metering devices have already been installed for 921 families living at the following addresses: 138, 140, 142, 144, 146, Stroiteley Ave, 238, Shevchenko bul. In December, 116 more residents of these houses will have such electricity meters.

DTEK understands the needs of its customers. Therefore, we are consistently upgrading the electrical networks, creating a modern service. All free electric meters allow customers to use the day or night rate, and the company to record their readings remotely. More than 45,000 automated metering devices are now in operation in the area. By the end of 2020, the number will increase by 1,000,” – says Oleksii Degtyarev, DTEK Donetsk Grids CEO.

New meters are installed in houses that are included into the investment program. The list is formed at the beginning of the year and approved by the national regulator, NEURC. Customers are kindly asked to let the DTEK Donetsk Grids technicians inside to be able to install the meters in their homes (if the meter is inside their apartment).

The company representatives inform the residents about the replacement in advance. They place Notices near the entrances to the houses, where they indicate the date of work and the contact phone number of a company representative. The DTEK Donetsk Grids employees are doing the job wearing branded overalls of gray-yellow color with the name of the company on it. At the request of a customer, electricians should show appropriate certificates.

*Having such meters installed for free, the residents are able to take advantage of the night electricity tariff (twice as cheap). Conditions and prices can be found on the NEURC website.
