DTEK Donetsk Grids examines electricity supply reliability in 43 medical facilities for COVID patients
DTEK is a reliable partner of our society. DTEK Donetsk Grids checks the power supply reliability to the hospitals for the second time since the lockdown restrictions began (the first check was in March and April). It is crucial to ensure that the hospitals have reliable power supply in the context of pandemic.
“The power supply to hospitals must be uninterrupted. Especially now, when the load on healthcare workers is so high. Therefore, we checked the technical condition of the lines and power facilities supplying 28 main and 15 backup medical facilities for COVID patients once again. To ensure reliable and uninterrupted operation, we did the maintenance of three transformer substations buildings in Kramatorsk, Druzhkovka, repaired the roofs of three more substations in Bakhmut and Marinka,” says Oleksii Degtiarev, DTEK Donetsk Grids CEO.
In Mariupol, to ensure reliable power supply, the company restored the cable line of the second input in City Hospital No.4, did the maintenance of the equipment, replaced the switch of the transformer substation in City Hospital No. 3, and did the maintenance of the substation in City Hospital No.9.
In addition, the company has opened up opportunities to provide prompt service to medical facilities when increasing the power supply. For such cases, we have assigned a specialist, and his tasks include communication with medical facilities and their support at all stages.
It is worth noting that the power supply reliability to hospitals depends not only on the proper functioning of power networks, but also on compliance with the standard indicators of hospital networks by medical facilities. After the checks, we sent out notices to local public authorities and medical facilities about how to prepare for emergencies in the hospitals electric networks and bring them into compliance with the effective requirements of regulatory documents. Such interaction will ensure that the power supply to hospitals meets the required level of reliability.
Earlier, DTEK Donetsk Grids improved the power supply to the Central Regional Hospital in Pokrovsk. The company installed three new advance load break switches at the transformer station supplying the hospital.
