DTEK Donetsk Grids completed the upgrade of two 110 kV high-voltage lines "Kotlyarevskaya - Zhelannaya" and "Kotlyarevskaya - Ocheretino". The energy company replaced 46 poles, 18.6 km of cables and more than 100 insulators. To protect against overvoltage, power engineers installed special ground wires along the entire overhead line. Hence, people in Avdiivka and nearby towns have now reliable power supply, and there are fewer risks of emergency shutdowns.

DTEK serves the Ukraine’s interests. We are striving to ensure the reliability of power supply and comfort of our clients. The upgrade of two high-voltage lines has significantly improved the power supply of the front-line town of Avdiivka and adjacent villages. And these are 21 towns with more than 40 thousand people,” says Oleksii Degtyarev, DTEK Donetsk Grids CEO.

It took us more than four months to upgrade the high-voltage lines "Kotlyarevskaya - Zhelannaya" and "Kotlyarevskaya - Ocheretino". These lines deliver electricity to 21 towns, including the front-line ones, such as Semenovka, Orlovka, Berdychi, Veseloye, Lastochkino, Novobakhmutovka, etc. Also, these lines are the main source of power supply for the largest producer in Ukraine of metallurgical coke products at Avdiivka Coke Plant.

Since the beginning of the year, DTEK Donetsk Grids specialists have restored the operation of 2 high-voltage lines, 14 medium-low voltage lines and 126 transformer substations damaged because of shelling. Therefore we restored power supply to residents of 42 frontline towns. Due to military operations, there are always some risks of emergency shutdowns, and, as a consequence, of leaving people without electricity.
