DTEK Donetsk Grids ensured reliable power supply to four front-line settlements
The stable operation of the high-voltage line and two low-voltage lines was disrupted by shelling. Thus, some people in Krasnogorovka were left without power. People in other front-line villages can be left without electricity at any moment. Since the lines are in the gray zone, it was needed to get additional coordination with the JCCC (Joint Center for Control and Coordination on Ceasefire Issues) and involve representatives of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and the OSCE to do the repairs.
“Our energy workers started repairs and restoration of the lines supplying four frontline settlements immediately after the company received all the required approvals. In Krasnogorovka, we have replaced more than 200 meters of wire cut by shrapnel. By doing this, we returned the light to 30 households. In Granitne, three low voltage line breaks were eliminated. Also, the company removed fluffing wires and replaced the insulators on two sections of the May 1 - Kodem line, which feeds Semigorye and part of Novolugansk. Now all the residents of these frontline settlements have reliable power supply,” says Oleksii Degtyarev, Head of DTEK Donetsk Grids.
DTEK Donetsk Grids serves the Ukraine’s interests, shares the values of the community, and recognizes that permanent and uninterrupted power supply is crucial for people in the region.
Let us recall that DTEK Donetsk Grids restored the service to the front-line villages of Luganske and Taramchuk, and the village of Vodyane in October. The company returned the power supply to the front-line village of Novoselovka-2 in September, and to Nevelske in December that lost power after hostiles.
In total in 2021, DTEK Donetsk Grids restored the operation of three 35-110 kV lines, nine 6-10 kV lines, 99 transformer substations, de-energized because of shelling, returned service to more than 2,100 people living in 17 front-line settlements.
