DTEK Donetsk Grids prepared power grids for winter loads. To this end, the company has overhauled the electrical equipment of almost 500 distribution points and transformer substations, more than 70 km of overhead lines, and replaced 111 km of critically worn out cables. Power engineers also cleared the green spaces under the overhead power lines. All this was done to reduce accidents and ensure uninterrupted power supply to residents of the region during cold weather.
DTEK Donetsk Grids got the regional energy infrastructure ready for heating season

The company began the power grids preparation for the 2020/2021 heating season in the spring, immediately after the end of the previous one. Despite the quarantine, which brought its changes to the repair plan, the DTEK Donetsk Grids specialists completed a significant scope of work.

DTEK cares about its customers. Prior to the heating season, we did our best to complete the planned grids repairs as much as possible. The company renewed 624 cable lines, replaced 111 km of lines in Mariupol, Kramatorsk, Pokrovsk, Bakhmut, and Slavyansk. Their reliable operation is essential for the region residents to have light in their homes", - says Oleksii Degtyarev, DTEK Donetsk Grids Director General.

DTEK Donetsk Grids specialists repaired 492 distribution points and transformer substations. Replacing the equipment of transformer substations with modern equipment ensured the reliability of power supply to the infrastructure and residents of Bakhmut, Druzhkovka, Pokrovsk, Seversk, and Mariupol. The power engineers have also replaced 1266 poles and 3878 insulators. Tree branches have been trimmed within 502 kilometers of overhead power lines, since they often cause network breaks during strong winds. Such actions significantly reduce the risks of emergencies.

Having all these activities in place, the power grids will get through the cold season well, and ensure comfort in the homes of the region's residents.
