DTEK Donetsk Grids restored service to 56 localities that lost power due to a storm
Now DTEK Donetsk Grids is restoring service to 16 settlements in Kramatorsk District, 10 in Pokrovsky District, and one in Mariupol District.
“DTEK serves the Ukraine’s interests, takes care of its customers and makes every effort to ensure that their homes always have lights on and comfort. Within one day, we returned the electricity to 30,000 of our customers. We are still eliminating the consequences of rough weather. We engaged 96 repair teams and 75 pieces of equipment are involved in emergency recovery work. The company's energy workers are making every effort to restore the power supply to the affected areas as soon as possible,” says Oleksiy Degtyarev, CEO of DTEK Donetsk Grids.
The northern and central parts of the region - Kramatorsk and Pokrovsk Districts – witnessed the most outages. It was quite challenging to do the work because of thunderstorms, strong winds, and rain. Trees and branches that fell on wires caused many outages. Such restorations take longer as it is required to clear the area of fallen branches and trees. Today the thunderstorm has reached the Pryazovske area.
According to the Donetsk Regional Center for Hydrometeorology, thunderstorms, squalls of north-west wind of 15-20 m/s are expected across Donetsk region on July 22. (Hazard level 1, yellow).
