Escalation of hostilities in the last 24 hours caused damage to electrical equipment that provides power supply to 12 front-line settlements in the Donetsk region. Prompt actions of DTEK Donetsk Grids workers allowed restoring service to over 7,000 households in Krasnohorivka, Solodke, Stepne and Slavne. As of now, residents of Taramchuk, Nevelske, Ozarianivka, Druzhba, Kamianka, Vesele, and Novoselivka-2 are still without electricity, while Verkhnotoretske is partially without electricity. The company awaits for the end of the active phase of hostilities and for permission to conduct maintenance. DTEK Donetsk Grids workers restored power supply to Nevelske just a week ago.

DTEK Donetsk Grids serves the Ukraine’s interests, shares the values of the society, and recognizes that permanent and uninterrupted power supply is crucial for comfort of people in the region. Company’s workers managed to promptly connect an overhead line and 22 transformer substations to restore service to residents of Stepne, Solodke and Slavne within a few hours. By 16.00 energy workers restored normal operation of 110 kV substation that provides power supply to Krasnohorivka.

Company’s workers will commence activities to restore power supply to Taramchuk, Nevelske, Ozarianivka, Druzhba, Kamianka, Vesele, Novoselivka-2 and Verkhnotoretske right after the end of hostilities and obtaining of permission.

It is worth reminding that performance of restoration activities in front-line settlements within the grey zone requires additional coordination with the JCCC (Joint Center for Control and Coordination on Ceasefire Issues) and involvement of representatives of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and the OSCE. The mechanism for performing repairs near the buffer zone is regulated by the relevant Procedure set in force by the Combined Forces Commander’s decree. Permission to perform emergency restoration activities in the front-line zone can be granted only after obtaining bilateral ceasefire guarantees.

In 2021, DTEK Donetsk Grids restored operation of 3 high-voltage lines, 9 lines of medium-low voltage and 99 transformer substations damaged because of shelling. The company restored service to 2,185 households of the front-line zone. In total, since the beginning of military actions in this area, DTEK Donetsk Grid restored the power supply at substations and power lines over 16,000 times.
