DTEK Donetsk Grids returned power to residents of 7 frontline settlements that lost power after hostilities
15 settlements of the Pokrovsky district, which number about 5,000 people, lost their power on August 11 because of damage to the 35 kV line caused by hostilities. DTEK Donetsk Grids was in the position to quickly restore power supply in 9 of them. To do the work in 6 more settlements, it was needed to get additional approvals from the JCCC (Joint Center for Control and Coordination on Ceasefire Issues), since it is the gray zone.
“Having received the necessary approvals, our energy workers were able to continue restoration of power supply to 6 more villages, namely Taramchuk, Berezovoye, Stepnoye, Sladkoye, Slavnoye, and Novomikhaylovka. We restored the operation of 44 transformer substations, recovered three damages in two spans of the 35 kV power transmission line, and replaced insulators. This made it possible to return power to 1,768 households,” says Oleksiy Degtyarev, General Director at DTEK Donetsk Grids.
Also, the company repaired damaged wires, replaced 13 insulators of the 10 kV line, installed a new power transformer in the village of Vodyanoe in the Volnovakhsky district. Now the village people have a reliable electricity supply.
