DTEK Donetsk Grids restored service to 15 settlements that lost power after rough weather

Now DTEK Donetsk Grids is restoring power supply in the Novoserhiivka village of the Kramatorsk District.

“DTEK serves the interests of Ukraine, takes care of its customers and does everything to ensure that their homes always have lights on and comfort. Over the day, we returned power to almost 3,000 of our customers, having involved 93 repair teams and 67 pieces of equipment in emergency recovery work. The company's energy workers are still on full alert to prevent weather-related outages and eliminate possible emergencies,” says Oleksii Degtyarev, General Director at DTEK Donetsk Grids.

The northern and central parts of the region - Kramatorsky, Bakhmutsky and Pokrovsky Districts – witnessed the most outages. It was quite challenging to do the emergency recovery work because of thunderstorms, strong winds, and rain. There were a lot of wires that were broken by falling trees. Thus, such recovery takes longer as it is needed to clear the area of fallen branches and trees.

According to the Donetsk Regional Center for Hydrometeorology, thunderstorms are expected across the Donetsk Region on August 10, entailing hail and squalls of north-west wind of 15-20 m/s (level 1 hazard, yellow) in some areas. DTEK Donetsk Grids emergency crews have been put on full alert and are working 24/7 to ensure that our customers have a reliable power supply.

• In case of strong wind, you should not be near power lines;
• Do not approach broken wires closer than 8-12 meters and in no case touch it;
